If you use something the Mac The Ripper to grab your DVDs as files, you can check a box called "Disable DVD UOPs", which can lead to lower blood pressure. I'd personally pay double for a hardware DVD player that ignored them. I don't know of any hack for the OSX software DVD Player to kill them :( This is called User Operation Prohibition, apparently.
